“The author has done a great job of creating an interesting and compelling version of two classic stories. It was done in a way that stayed true to the original pieces while putting a personal spin that was entertaining and enticing for the audience. In this story the author has put the audience in a setting that benefits the overall story arc and allows for very complex characters to exist within the world. In a place where there do not seem to be many rules and workers of this environment are treated like trash, it creates for an interesting story when there is an innocent girl thrown into the mix.
The author has created a very layered character in Alice and I believe the use of voiceover was particularly useful for finding out information about the protagonist. Throughout the story the voice-overs that the author uses give the audience insight into the mind of this compelling character and adds to the suspense of the overall story. Along with that the voiceovers connected the audience to this character thus making it much easier to feel for her and the situation that she is in. This Underland is a place that seems to be very brutal and unforgiving and throwing a girl in there that seems very confused and weak makes for a strong narrative.
I believe the ending of the story was very strong and it benefited the overall arc of the narrative. Alice is now completely submerged into this strange world and it has taken over her mind and body. It leaves the audience wondering what is going to happen to this character next but at the same time it is satisfying. Not only that, but this ending goes along with the entire theme of the story. The author has created a script that is filled with confusing and out of the ordinary events so for the narrative to wrap up with the strange beginning to a sex act was a very interesting and strong choice by the author.”
